Pakistan's power-hitter Azam Khan played another brilliant knock for Mississauga Panthers in the ongoing Global T20 Canada.
While batting first against Vancouver Knights in their second match, Panthers scored 158-6 in 20 overs thanks to a brilliant partnership between Azam and Chris Gayle.
They both scored 102 off 64 balls to take their team on top in the first innings. Azam contributed a powerful 64 off 35 balls including eight boundaries and three maximums.
In the first match, Azam scored 65 runs in 55 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes against Brampton Wolves.
Azam’s side lost the match by 52 runs (DLS method) after the match was stopped due to bad light.
Mississauga were dismissed for 121 in 20 overs, meanwhile the home side were 99-1 in nine overs when the match was stopped.
Mississauga’s captain and former Pakistan all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, could only score one run with the bat. He also conceded 34 runs in two overs with nothing to show for in the wickets column.
Pakistan’s leg-spinner Usman Qadir, who was also playing for Mississauga, also gave away 23 runs in two overs without picking up a wicket.
